Lunch and Learn Series Returns to Colonel Palmer House for Fall Program Season

The Lunch and Learn Series at the Colonel Palmer House is back. Choose one or choose them all. Registration is required through the Crystal Lake Park District and includes a delicious boxed lunch. All presentations are held at the Colonel Palmer House located at 660 E. Terra Cotta Ave in Crystal Lake. For more information contact Mary Ott at palmerhouse@crystallakeparks.org or 815-477-5873.

The Colonel Palmer House located at 660 E. Terra Cotta Rd. was built c.1858 by settlers Gustavus and Henrietta Palmer. Located on its original site, the home was entered in the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Currently the home is maintained by the Crystal Lake Park District and home to the Crystal Lake Historical Society.

The Garden Gate Club of Crystal Lake cares for the flowers grown at the Colonel Palmer House. The day before our Summer Sunday program, club members create cut flower arrangements to decorate the house. Do you want to learn how to make beautiful flower arrangements using flowers from your garden? Pat Blaul and Jane Grabel from the club will show you how to create arrangements for all occasions. If you want to make an arrangement to take home, bring a small vase with you.
