Man, 74, Shoots Himself In Leg: Police

The man was taken from his home to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A 74-year-old Crystal Lake man accidentally shot himself in the leg while loading his "legally owned" semi-automatic handgun in his home on Monday, according to the Northwest Herald. The man was taken from his residence in the 5800 block of Marietta Drive in unincorporated Crystal Lake to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital for treatment of the injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, officials told the newspaper.
