Man Blocked Teen From Using Bathroom, Beat Her Dad: Police
The Woodstock man and two other men are accused of beating the dad inside the bathroom at Nikos Red Mill Tavern in Woodstock.

WOODSTOCK, IL — Three men face felony battery charges after severely beating a father inside a bathroom at Nikos Red Mill Tavern in Woodstock. The father told authorities the attack occurred after speaking with one of the men, later identified by authorities as 47-year-old Timothy Freitag, who blocked the woman's bathroom and would not let his daughter go in, according to a news release from the Woodstock Police Department.
Shortly after talking inquiring why Freitag wouldn't let his daughter in, he walked with his daughter to the bathroom. He again had a conversation with Freitag, of Gilberts, before his daughter went into the women's bathroom and he went into the men's bathroom, according to police.

While the man was in the bathroom, Freitag went outside the tavern and entered again with Anthony E. Chrisos, 54, of Woodstock, and Steven J. Wennerstrom, 54, of Lakemoor. They went into the bathroom where they severely beat the dad, police said.


The dad was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for injuries that are considered serious by not life-threatening. No one else was reportedly injured, authorities said.

All men face aggravated battery-great bodily harm charges, which is a Class 3 felony. In addition, Chrisos and Wennerstrom have been charged with aggravated battery (public place) - a Class 3 felony and mob action, a Class 4 felony.
Additional charges are expected to be filed against Freitag at a later date. He was arrested at the Nikos Red Mill Tavern and his bail has been set at $$75,000.
Bail has been set at $60,000 for Chrisos and Wennerstrom.
