Kevin Sorensen also is accused of pulling the boy's pants down after snatching him from his bike and carrying him away, prosecutors said.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – A 40-year-old Woodstock man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 4-year-old boy near Olson Park in Woodstock last August, prosecutors said. Kevin Sorensen forcefully removed the young boy from his bike while he was riding with a group of other children near the park at about 12:45 p.m. on Aug. 11, 2017. The children chased after the young boy as Sorensen carried him away and yelled for help, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.
Two workers driving in the area heard the yelling and then saw Sorensen pulling down the boys pants, according to the news release. They immediately chased after Sorensen who then dropped the boy. The workers and other neighbors in the area responded to help hold Sorensen down until officers from the Woodstock Police Department arrived and took him into custody.
Sorensen was sentenced to 18 years in prison on the aggravated kidnapping charge and also ordered to serve four years concurrently on a sex abuse charge. He will be required to register for life as a sex offender, prosecutors said.
