Man Hit By Truck While Walking On Route 31: Police
The pedestrian was struck while attempting to cross Route 31 on Saturday night, police said.
MCHENRY, IL — A 33-year-old McHenry man was hit by a truck while crossing Route 31 in McHenry Saturday night, authorities said. The man was walking east and attempting to cross the street in the 800 block of North Front Street when he was struck by a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck headed north on Front Street, according to a news release from the McHenry Police Department.
The pedestrian was first taken to Northwestern Medicine in McHenry and then flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening, authorities said.
The truck driver was not injured, according to police.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Front Street between John Street and Grove Avenue was closed to traffic for about three hours to allow the crash team to investigate.
