Man Jailed For Sex Assault Of Child

The sexual assault, which involved "multiple incidents," took place five years in Woodstock.

WOODSTOCK, IL — A 50-year-old Woodstock man is in custody in connection with the sex assault of a minor child that happened about five years ago in the city, authorities said. The Woodstock Police Department launched their investigation into the reported criminal sex assault after receiving a report from the Department of Children and Family Services about multiple sex assault incidents involving the child who was under 13 years old at the time, according to a news release from the Woodstock Police Department.

On Thursday, Homero Alcaraz-Bello, was taken into custody and charged with predatory criminal sexual assault, Class X felony; and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony. A judge set Alcaraz-Bello's bond at $500,000.

Alcaraz-Bello, of the 1700 block of Yasgur Drive in Woodstock, never lived with the minor child, authorities said.
