The attack occurred while the Lake County Sheriff's Office was responding to a domestic incident near Libertyville.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A woman and her baby were unharmed after a domestic incident, which ended with the arrest of a man accused of punching an officer, at a business near Libertyville early Friday, authorities said.

Christian Castro, 33, now faces several charges in connection with the early morning incident at the business in the 14000 block of West Petronella Drive in unincorporated Libertyville. Police say they were called to the business at 1:45 a.m. for a report of a female family member being battered by a male in a sleeping area of the business.

The caller was not able to keep in touch with the family member and told police she believed the man, who was later identified as Castro, was not allowing the woman to use her phone, according to a news release from police.
