Mariano's In Crystal Lake Opening On May 1

Crystal Lake shoppers will have another grocery store option along Northwest Highway when the new Mariano's opens on May 1.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – Mariano's in Crystal Lake will soon open its doors. The grocer plans to open at 105 Northwest Highway, the former location of Crystal Lake's Sears store, on May 1, according to an update on Mariano’s Facebook page. The store will open to shoppers at 6 a.m.

Demolition of the former Sears building and construction of the 74,800-square-foot grocery store got underway last year. The grocery store will feature Mariano’s signature glass rotunda, which houses the café area for customers, according to a news release from the city of Crystal Lake. The property will also include 19,000-square-foot gas station.

City officials said in a news release that the store’s interior is unique to Crystal Lake and offers an unparalleled shopping experience with a vast assortment of freshly prepared meal options and an extensive award-winning produce department.
