The McHenry County Department of Health is seeking volunteers to serve as "victims" during a mock disease outbreak on June 16.
In the event of a widespread disease outbreak, MCDH has plans to dispense preventative antibiotics or vaccines to the public. The health department needs to test these plans with a hands-on exercise, which will take place from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. at Woodstock North High School, 3000 Raffel Road in Woodstock.

To make the exercise as real as possible, MCDH needs a large number of people to volunteer as “victims” during the mock outbreak. During the exercise, volunteers will be asked to act as a “victim” and go through the site to receive simulated medication.
Volunteers are encouraged to register by calling (815) 334-0217. There are different shifts available and volunteers do not need to be at the exercise during its entirety.
