MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — McHenry County officials and the McHenry County Department of Health will hold a virtual town hall meeting where residents can get their questions answered about the county’s rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The town hall meeting, which will feature County Board Chairman Mike Buehler, Public Health Administrator Melissa Adamson, Director of Nursing Susan Karras, and Public Health and Community Services Committee Chairwoman Lori Parrish, will be streamed on Facebook Live from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, according to a news release.

“The people of McHenry County have questions regarding our vaccination plan, and we want to provide them with the latest information,” Buehler, R-Crystal Lake, said. “We’re doing the best we can, as one government of many thousands embarking on an unprecedented national and worldwide effort, to get the COVID-19 vaccine distributed as quickly as possible.”

The meeting will be streamed on the Facebook pages of McHenry County government and the MCDH. While viewers can submit questions via live chat, they are encouraged to submit them in advance by e-mail to q&a@mchenrycountyil.gov by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5.

McHenry County has just entered Phase 1b of the state vaccination plan, which includes inoculations of seniors age 65 and older, and plans later this month to expand vaccinations to teachers and other school personnel with the hopes of "protecting educators and children as schools reopen for in-person learning," health officials said.
