McHenry County Public Zoo Plans Take Shape
The owner of A Zoo To You in Huntley hopes to open a public zoo north of Woodstock.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The Huntley owner of a business that brings animals out to events across the area is now focused on opening McHenry County's first public zoo.
Corey Hancock currently owns A Zoo To You and has launched a GoFundMe as he tries and ramps up funds and public support for his newest venture, Wild Heart Adventure. His vision for the public zoo, he says, includes not only a place to visit and view animals of all kinds, but also a campground where families can stay over and hear the noises of the animals at night.
Night tours are also a possibility as is a wedding venue and public education opportunities, Hancock said in a YouTube video where he explained his plans and asked for the public's support. Hancock is currently eyeing a 200-acre site off of Route 14 between Harvard and Woodstock, Shaw Local is reporting.
