McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Partners With MCCD for National Night Out
National Night Out is Aug. 2.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the McHenry County Conservation District Police Department will host a National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Harrison Benwell Conservation Area, 7055 McCullom Lake Road in Wonder Lake, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
National Night Out is celebrated annually the first Tuesday of August. The goal of NNO is to promote crime prevention and safety programs, strengthen police-community partnerships and encourage neighborhood camaraderie in hopes for a safer McHenry County and America.NNO “America’s Night Against Crime” began in 1984 and is celebrated in all 50 states.
Everyone from McHenry County is invited to attend this free family oriented event. The Sheriff’s Office, the Conservation District Police Department, and several other area departments will have various squads and police equipment on display. A motorcycle precision riding demonstration, K9 demonstration and a fire department extrication demonstration will also be presented Tuesday night.

Other fun children activities include a bounce house, climbing wall, and complimentary pizza and water. Attendees will be able to gather additional information about the services their local public servants provide. Parking is available at Harrison School.
