McHenry Home Uninhabitable Following Fire: Fire Officials
The blaze broke out Friday night at a small ranch home.

MCHENRY, IL -- No one was injured in a house fire Friday night in McHenry, fire officials said. The fire broke out at about 9:59 p.m. at a small ranch home in the 4500 block of Parkway Avenue. The fire started in a bedroom and was contained to that area, according to a news release from the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.
The house and its contents sustained smoke damage and the residence has been deemed uninhabitable due to the smoke and fire damage, fire officials said.
Damage totals are estimated at $25,000, according to a news release.

An electrical issue in the bedroom is believed to have caused the fire. Fire officials said the blaze was likely caused by an accident and is not suspicious in nature.
