McHenry Man Accused of Stealing Handgun While Working at Libertyville Home

​Work was being done at the Libertyville home in January 2016 when the gun went missing. A McHenry man has been arrested for the theft.

A 20-year-old McHenry man was arrested at the McHenry Police Department at 2 p.m. on July 14 in connection with a theft of a handgun from a home in Libertyville in January 2016, police said.

A Libertyville resident had reported the gun stolen after having workmen at his home, according to the Libertyville Police Department report. Following an investigation, police discovered that Tyler R. Fish, of 3625 Myang Avenue in McHenry, had worked at the residence and allegedly passed the gun onto a friend, telling the friend that he had stolen the gun.

Fish was processed at the Libertyville Police Department and was then transported to the Lake County Jail to await a bond hearing. He is charged with possession of a stolen firearm, theft over $500 and unlawful use of a weapon.
