McHenry Woman, 26, Dies In 1-Car Crash
The collision happened on westbound Interstate 90 near Route 25 Friday evening, police said.
COOK COUNTY, IL — A 26-year-old McHenry woman is dead following a one-car crash on Interstate 90 Friday evening, authorities said. The collision happened just before 5 p.m. on westbound I-90 near the Dundee Avenue ramp in Cook County.
Authorities say a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Megan M. Sergeant of McHenry, veered left across all lanes of traffic and onto the left shoulder before striking the concrete median barrier on the left side of the road, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police.

The car continued along the left shoulder before coming to a rest, according to police. Sergeant was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Two lanes along I-90 were shut down for more than two hours following the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
