MCYSA Announces 2020 Scholarship Winners
McHenry County Youth Sports Association awards scholarships to local student athletes for 18th consecutive year.
The McHenry County Youth Sports Association presented six $1000 scholarships to local student athletes at a special ceremony on Monday, July 20th. This is the 18th year that the MCYSA has awarded the Justin Schroeder Memorial Scholarship to players who played in the tournament on a Host Team, participated in the home stay program or served as a tournament volunteer.

Lillie Sisler, Tournament Volunteer (bat kid)
The scholarship is named after Justin Schroeder, who played in the tournament for Crystal Lake Babe Ruth, and was killed in a car accident in 2003, the year the scholarship was established.
Although the 2020 tournament was canceled due to the restrictions related to the Corona virus, the MCYSA felt it was important that the scholarship program should carry on and that these student athletes be recognized for their achievements and contribution to the on-going success of the tournament.
