Minor Injuries In Accident Involving School Bus

The bus driver was cited for failing to slow down to avoid an accident.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Three people were taken to Centegra Hospital-Huntley after a head-on accident between a car and a school bus Wednesday morning.

The Northwest Herald reported that the driver and a passenger of one vehicle, and the driver of a third vehicle, were taken to the hospital after the crash, at about 8:15 a.m.

Three District 47 students were riding the bus to West Elementary School, but no kids were injured, the Herald reported District 47's community relations coordinator Denise Barr as saying.

A Nissan and a Chevy were damaged in the accident and the bus' front end was damage, according to the Herald. The Crystal Lake police blocked the roadway while dealing with the crash, and another bus came to take the kids to school.
