Coroner IDs Motorcyclist Killed In Fox Lake Crash
A 62-year-old Volo man was killed in the collision Tuesday evening.

FOX LAKE, IL – A 62-year-old Volo man killed in a motorcycle crash in Fox Lake Tuesday evening has been identified as Spurgeon D. Dyke, Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper said. The single-vehicle collision occurred when 2013 Harley Davidson was heading south on the Route 12 Frontage Road, approaching the curve near Big Hollow Road. The motorcycle went off the road and struck a guard rail and Dyke was thrown from his bike, according to authorities.
Preliminary autopsy results indicated he died from multiple traumatic injuries as a result of the crash. Toxicology results are pending, Cooper said in a Wednesday news release.
The investigation into the exact circumstances of Dyke's death is ongoing, authorities said.

Big Hollow Road west of Route 12 and the Frontage Road was closed for about three hours following the crash.
