Mustachioed Man Wearing All Gray Robs Bank: Police

Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down the man who is accused of robbing a bank in McHenry Friday afternoon.

MCHENRY, IL – Authorities are searching for man accused of robbing a bank in McHenry on Friday. The bank robber, who had a mustache and was wearing all gray clothing, allegedly entered the First Midwest Bank, 4502 W. Crystal Lake Road, at about 4 p.m. on Dec. 14 and passed a note to the cash teller, which demanded money. The offender then fled north through the front door.

No one was injured in the robbery and the male robber did not display a weapon, police said. Information on the amount of money taken, if any, was not being released, according to a news release from the McHenry Police Department.

The offender is described as a white male, possibly in his 30s who is about 6-feet-tall and an average build. The man, who had a goatee and mustache, wore a two-tone gray zip-up sweatshirt at the time of the robbery with a light gray front and back and dark gray sleeves, according to the news release.

He had on sunglasses with silver rims and wore a two-tone gray hat with white lettering, gray pants and gray shoes. The hat was dark gray on top with a light gray brim.

The bank robbery remains under investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting local police.

The McHenry Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the bank robber. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Division of the McHenry Police Department at 815-363-2599.
