Nunda Masonic Lodge Awards Scholarships to Local Students!
Four student received scholarship checks from Nunda Lodge
Crystal Lake’s Nunda Masonic Lodge # 169 awarded four educational scholarships on June 9th to the following High School students: Gideon Burleson, 1k Vocational Winner, Crystal Lake Central High School (2025 Graduate);Megan Curry, 1k Educational Winner, Huntley High School (2023 Graduate);Alexa Albanese, 1k Educational Winner,Prairie Ridge High School; andKelly Anderson, 1k Educational Winner, Prairie Ridge High School.
All four recipients received a check for $1,000 to assist them in their vocational, university or college fees. Each recipient also received a gift basket courtesy of Raising Cane’s Restaurant in Crystal Lake. The annual Masonic Scholarship is awarded to students who submit an essay outlining their views on Faith, Hope and Charity, the three tenets of Masonic giving.
Nunda Lodge’s Worshipful Master Don Curry stated that Nunda Lodge is committed to investing in the next generation through education and community service. The Nunda Masonic Lodge #169 received their charter from the Illinois Grand Lodge in 1855 which makes them one of the oldest organizations in Crystal Lake. The Masonic fraternity is an organization for men of good character with the explicit purpose of bettering themselves and their community.
