Nunda Masonic Lodge Freemason Celebrates Fiftieth Anniversary

Crystal Lake’s Nunda Masonic Lodge # 169 was proud to celebrate brother Bruce Robbins’ fiftieth year as a Freemason. Bro. Robbins served as Worshipful Master of Nunda Lodge in 1983 and again in 2008. He also previously served as Treasurer in St. John’s Lodge # 1 while residing in New Jersey. His father was a District Deputy Grand Master, and a Junior Warden in 1981. Brother Robbins has passed his legacy onto his son who is a Freemason in New Jersey. The celebration for Brother Robbins on July 28^th was also attended by another Nunda Lodge Fifty-Year Member, Russell Schlosser.

Nunda Lodge Worshipful Master Don Curry said that Freemasons such as Bruce Robbins “…exemplify the principal tenets of Freemasonry by practicing kindness toward all people, and providing charitable assistance while continuing to strive for personal integrity, wisdom, and continuous self-improvement.”

The Nunda Masonic Lodge #169 received their charter from the Illinois Grand Lodge in 1855 which makes them one of the oldest organizations in Crystal Lake. The Masonic fraternity is an organization for men of good character with the explicit purpose of bettering themselves and their community.
