• Raue Center for the Arts celebrates 25 years with community open house Sept. 10 (shawlocal.com) — Crystal Lake residents are invited to a free 25th anniversary open house at Raue Center for the Arts from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, featuring behind-the-scenes tours and special announcements. The downtown theater will celebrate its history, honor its Sept. 11 reopening connection, and highlight how it's grown into a regional arts hub.
   

• Huntley boys soccer team scores wins over Rockford East, Larkin: Saturday's Northwest Herald roundup (shawlocal.com) — Crystal Lake athletes had a busy weekend, with Central's boys soccer, volleyball, tennis and local cross-country runners all competing in tournaments and invitationals across the region.
