Plumbing Business Owner ID'd As Driver Killed In Crash

Michael Linderman, 59, of McHenry, was killed Wednesday morning after a dump truck collided with his van.

MCHENRY, IL — The owner of a plumbing business has been identified as the driver killed in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning near Wauconda.

Michael Linderman, 59, owner of All Pro Plumbing, is being remembered for his generosity. He died after a dump truck ran into the Ram ProMaster van he was driving at about 8:05 a.m. at Wilson Road and Route 60 in unincorporated Wauconda Township.

McHenry Mayor Wayne Jett said Linderman did "so much for McHenry and surrounding communities." Describing him as a friend with a caring heart, Jett said Linderman stepped up to help pay for ballistic helmets for the McHenry Police Department.

"When I was talking to Mike about my plan to donate 50 percent and looking for another company to donate the other 50 percent. Without hesitation Mike said, 'Im in!'" Jett said. "This is just one of many examples of who Mike was and the impact he’s had on McHenry."

Linderman died due to multiple traumatic injuries from a crash, according to preliminary results provided by the Lake County Coroner's Office.

The collision happened when a 2018 Chevrolet Trax headed south on Wilson Road failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a Peterbilt Semi-Truck, which was westbound on Route 60, police said. The dump truck then hit Linderman's Ram ProMaster Van.

Linderman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 24-year-old Ingleside man; a passenger in the van, a 31-year-old Kenosha, Wisconsin, man; and the driver of the dump truck, a 50-year-old Berwyn man, were all taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

On Wednesday, McHenry County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Christopher Covelli told Patch an investigation could take weeks. A determination regarding citations and any possible charges will be determined once the probe is complete.
