Police Find $36,000 Worth of Heroin in McHenry Apartment: Police
A McHenry man has been arrested and charged following the July 26 search of his apartment.

MCHENRY, IL - A 29-year-old McHenry man was arrested this past week after authorities conducted a search of his apartment and turned up 180 grams of heroin, which has a street value of approximately $36,000, police announced Friday.
Brian M. Freund, of 3939 Main Street Apt. 21 in McHenry, has been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a McHenry Police Department press release. Freund is free after posting 10 percent of his $150,000 bond.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Narcotics Task Force searched Freund’s apartment on July 26.There they recovered the 180 grams of heroin, two scales, packaging material and $963 in cash
Freund, who was not home at the time of the search, turned himself into the McHenry County Correctional Facility on Aug. 1, according to a news release.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Narcotics Task Force, which includes the Lake in the Hills Police Department, has been focused on curbing the sale of heroin and other opioids to residents of McHenry County. Police remind residents to leave narcotics-related tips by calling 815-334-4760.
