Police Issue 64 Tickets, Arrest 2 During Thanksgiving Enforcement Effort
The Crystal Lake Police Department increased enforcement efforts over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Crystal Lake Police Department handed out 64 traffic tickets during a recent Thanksgiving enforcement effort.
The Crystal Lake Police Department conducted the increased enforcement effort from Nov. 14 through 17, reminding motorists to buckle up and not drive impaired during the Click It or Ticket mobilization, according to a news release.
During the mobilization, motorists stopped 84 drivers for traffic violations. During the traffic stops, police officers handed out 64 tickets for the following violations:

- 19 citations for unlawful use of an electronic communications device
- 17 citations for safety belt citations
- 17 citations for speeding
- 6 citations for other moving violations and equipment
- 5 citations for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle
In addition, two people were arrested for the following offenses:
- Possession of more than 30 grams but no more than 100 grams of Cannabis
- Driving while License Suspended
The recent law enforcement crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through IDOT’s Division of Traffic Safety and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
