Police Search For 2 Accused Of Damaging Vehicles
The Cary Police Department has received 18 reports regarding significant damage to vehicles that occurred last weekend.
CARY, IL — The Cary Police Department is asking for the public's help in tracking down two people accused of etching obscenities into the paint of vehicles parked on residential streets last weekend, authorities said.
Police say they received 18 reports regarding significant damage to vehicles on residential streets that are bordered by Three Oaks Road to the north, Wooded Knoll Drive to the south, Montana Drive to the west and Lyons Ridge Drive to the east, according to a news release from the Cary Police Department.
The criminal damage occurred on Friday evening and Saturday evening, authorities said. Police say the two people were walking through the residential area when they approached the parked vehicles and etched words into the paint. There were some obscenities written on the vehicles and other random damage.

"None of the words or damage appeared to be motivated by any type of bias," according to Scott Nayendoff, deputy chief of support services for the Cary Police Department.

Authorities have reviewed video provided by residents living in the area and are asking others to review video footage as well from between 6 and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The police department is also requesting video be shared through the Ring Neighbors app. Anyone with more information is asked to call the Cary Police Department Investigations division at 847-639-2341 to share video with an investigator.
Anyone with information can also contact Cary-Grove Crime Stoppers at 800-762-7876. Cary-Grove Crime Stoppers will offer a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the offenders.
