Precautionary Boil Order Issued For Parts Of Cary

On Monday evening, village officials said there was a significant water main break near True Value Manufacturing.

CARY, IL—A precautionary boil order remains in effect for the Brigadoon, Cary Woods and Cary Point subdivisions.

As of 8 a.m. Tuesday, crews have been able to make additional repairs and adjustments to the water system that should restore pressure to the affected properties throughout the village, officials said.

"Staff is hopeful for normal water pressure to return by this afternoon. The boil order will still be in effect until future notice," village officials wrote in a news update on the village website.

On Monday evening, village officials said there was a significant water main break near True Value Manufacturing. As a result, many properties in the areas south and west of downtown Cary experienced low water pressure or a complete loss of water.

The water main break has been isolated, and water pressure is anticipated to return to normal shortly, village officials said.

A precautionary boil was issued for properties that experienced a complete loss of water pressure only. Officials said the temporary boil order does not apply to properties that experienced reduced pressure.
