Primary 2022: Crystal Lake, Cary Voters Guide

Check to see if you are registered to vote and see who is on your ballot ahead of Tuesday's primary election.

CRYSTAL LAKE AND CARY, IL β€” Voters will head to the polls Tuesday to make their selections in this year's primary races.

McHenry County voters will select their candidates for statewide races, including governor, attorney general, Secretary of State, U.S. senator, U.S. representative, state senator and state representative. Contested local races in the Republican primary include the McHenry County Sheriff's Office race where current undersheriff Robb Tadelman is seeking to step into the top cop role after current Sheriff Bill Prim retires at the end of his term.

Antonio "Tony" Colatorti, an enterpener who owns Cucina Bella in Algonquin, is also running in the Republican primary race for sheriff. He has 22 years of experience in law enforcement, formerly serving as the chief of police for Prairie Grove Police Department and Holiday Hills Police Department.

Andrew "Drew" J. Georgi Jr. and Mary Mahady are squaring off in the Republican primary race for McHenry County clerk. The winner of that race will face current McHenry County Clerk Joe Tirio in November's general election.

Residents living in the Crystal Lake Park District will also vote on a proposition to change the terms of office for park board commissioners from four to six years.

The polls will open at 6 a.m. on Tuesday and close at 7 p.m.
