Pro Wakeboarders Competing In Crystal Lake

The event is free to watch at The Quarry Cable Park in Crystal Lake.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The 2018 World Wake Association National Championships will get underway Thursday morning at the Quarry Cable Park. The competition, which has drawn the “best of the best”’from around the works to town, will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday. The event is free but parking at Three Oaks Recreation Area is $5 for non-residents.

The Quarry Cable Park, 5517 Northwest Highway, is located at Three Oaks.

Vehicles must enter at the Main Street entrance and exit to Route 14 during the competition, according to information posted on the Quarry Cable Park Facebook page.

The park will open to the public at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, earlier for riders.

The competition brings the nation’s top amateurs and elite professional riders from around the world to Crystal Lake. Teams have traveled in Canada, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Germany and Thailand, according to the Quarry’s Facebook page.

Duke's On The Water will be featuring a BBQ buffet, burger tent, as well as their everyday quick service window.
