Raue Center Announces Acts for Upcoming Season

Tickets will be available to the public starting on May 23.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - The Raue Center For The Arts this past week provided a "sneak peek" to its 2017-18 season. The upcoming season will feature everything from nationally touring acts and Broadway musicals to local favorites and holiday traditions, according to a news release from the Raue. Highlights of the upcoming season include an improvised sketch comedy show featuring “Saturday Night Live” alum Jim Belushi on Sept. 22, master storyteller Garrison Keillor on Sept. 24, “Cocktail Hour: The Show” by Ballets with a Twist 0n Nov. 11 and a debate featuring historical interpreter Clay Jenkinson on Nov. 18.

Tickets for the upcoming season will be available to the public starting on May 23. Members can purchase tickets now at rauecenter.org or via the box office at 815-356-9212 or at 26 N. Williams St. in downtown Crystal Lake, according to a news release.

The upcoming season will also feature a variety of hit tribute shows including One Night in Memphis on June 17, Heartache Tonight: An Eagles Tribute on Nov. 25 and another close glimpse into the Beatles’ vast
history book from American English on Jan. 6, 2018.

Popular Raue Center programs like Williams Street Rep Comedy and Lucy’s Comedy Cafe will continue in
the upcoming season. Shows such as Nothin’ Up My Sleeve will be held on Nov. 4, the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra will perform on Dec. 8, Voices in Harmony’s Sing Along Messiah on Dec. 9 and The Nutcracker with Berkshire Ballet Theatre on Dec. 16 through 17.

The season will also feature two hit Broadway musicals, produced by Williams Street Repertory, Raue
Center’s professional in-house theatre company, including Guys and Dolls from June 30 through July 23 and Little Shop of Horrors from Oct. 6 through Oct. 29.

“The Raue Center board, staff, 100-plus corporate partners and volunteers are very excited to continue to bring arts and culture to Crystal Lake – a great place to live and enjoy the arts,” said Executive Director Richard Kuranda. “This town continues to grow and it is with that energy in mind that we planned our 2017 - 2018 season. The upcoming season has something for everyone and we couldn’t be more proud."
