Results Are in From Halloween Traffic Crackdown in Crystal Lake

Patrol officers were out in full force October 28 through November 2.

Crystal Lake police handed out 25 tickets and made two arrests during a recent Halloween traffic enforcement program.

Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois, including the Crystal Lake Police Department, participated in increased patrol efforts from October 28 through November 2, focusing on drunken drivers and seat belt violators during late night hours.

During the mobilization, the police department conducted supplemental traffic enforcement utilizing personnel dedicated for this sole purpose which resulted in 28 additional motorists who were stopped for traffic violations and 25 additional traffic citations that were issued by officers.

Tickets that were issued included:

  • 9 citations for failure to wear safety belt
  • 5 citations for unlawful use of an electronic communications devices
  • 5 citations for speeding
  • 4 citations for operation of uninsured motor vehicles
  • 2 citations for other moving violations and equipment

Two motorists were also arrested. One person was taken into custody for speeding 35 mph over the posted speed limit and another was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license.
