The Cary Police Department took the following enforcement actions during the recent Thanksgiving traffic enforcement campaign:

▪ 5 speeding citations issued
▪ 2 improper use of an electronic communication device citations issued
Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort to reduce highway fatalities by getting impaired drivers off the roads and more people buckled up. The enforcement campaign took place from November 20th – 30th.

During the mobilization, extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours, when statistics show the most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur.
The Thanksgiving enforcement effort is made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by IDOT as part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
The Cary Police Department encourages motorists to call 911 to report dangerous driving. When calling to report dangerous driving, please provide as much information including; vehicle make, model, color, registration, and direction of travel, and if possible, a description of the driver of the offending vehicle.
