Roadway To Close At Rail Crossing For Repairs
The closure on Crystal Lake Avenue is necessary to replace the rail through the crossing, according to city officials.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – Union Pacific Railroad will be closing Crystal Lake Avenue at the railroad crossing near East Street next week. The roadway will close beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, and continuing through 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, for railroad crossing repairs, city officials said in a news release. The closure is necessary to replace the rail through the crossing, according to a news release.
A detour route will be posted, which utilizes Erick Street, Illinois Route 176 and Main Street.
The railway crossing work was initially scheduled to start on Monday, Feb. 5, but the work was pushed back a week due to the weather, city officials said.
