Standoff Shuts Down Fox Lake Neighborhood

The incident occurred at about 9 p.m. Thursday and remains under investigation.

FOX LAKE, IL - A suicidal man who threatened police and said he was armed with a gun forced authorities to cordon off a neighborhood in Fox Lake Thursday night.

Police were called to the area near Arthur Avenue and Forest Avenue around 9 p.m., according to the Daily Herald. An explosion was heard during the incident, and the man said he had gun, but no gun was found on him when he was taken into custody at 10 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
