Storm Damage Brush Pickup Continues For Cary, Crystal Lake Residents

A special pick up in Crystal Lake will continue through Wednesday while other options are available for residents in both towns.

The recent storms have resulted in storm damage to trees throughout Cary and Crystal Lake. Public Works Department crews began collecting storm-related brush starting on Thursday July 27, in Crystal Lake and will continue to do so through Wednesday, August 2. Residents are encouraged to contact the Public Works Department at (815) 356-3614 to report a pickup to help ensure brush is not missed.

In Cary, a special storm pickup was held last week but Advanced Disposal will pick up bundled brush cut into four-feet pieces. A special brush pickup can be scheduled through the Cary Public Works Department at a nominal fee, depending on the volume of the brush.

For those in Crystal Lake, all storm-related brush debris should be set out at the curb before 7 a.m. Due to the extent of the storm damage, residents are asked to limit the brush and limbs to recent storm damage only, according to a city news release.
