Lake in the Hills Teen Critically Injured in Route 176 Semi Crash: UPDATE
The three-vehicle crash happened Wednesday morning in Crystal Lake.
CRYSTAL LAKE -- An 18-year-old Lake in the Hills woman was taken by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center Wednesday following a crash with a semi-truck on Route 176 in Crystal Lake Wednesday morning, according to the Northwest Herald.
Police said the teen was heading east on Route 176 near Mount Thabor Road when her Chevrolet Suburban sideswiped the cab of a semi-truck, which was westbound on Route 176, and then collided head on with the trailer of the semi, according to the newspaper.
Three others were taken to Centegra Hospital - Woodstock following the crash, the newspaper reports.

The area of Route 176 and Mount Thabor Road was closed Wednesday morning following the traffic crash, police said. Police sent out the Nixle alert at about 10:25 a.m. anda advised motorists to avoid Route 176 between Haligus and Brairwood.
