Tree of Life UU Choir Featured in Regional Concert

On Sunday April 10 the Choir of the Tree of Life Congregation in McHenry will participate in the Western Crescent Choir Concert in Rockford

On Sunday, April 10, at 4pm, the Adult Choir of the Tree of Life Congregation in McHenry will participate in the annual Western Crescent Choir Festival of Unitarian Univeraslist congregations from the western Chicago suburbs and exurbs. The concert will be held at the Rockford Unitarian Universalist Church, 4848 Turner Street in Rockford.

The choir under the direction of Thomas Steffens is currently in rehearsals and preparation for its upcoming tour of Romania and the oldest Unitarian churches in the world in the region of Transylvania.

This is the third year the choir has participated in this festival that is open to the public. The concert will feature singers the Unitarian Universalist Church of Rockford, Elgin Unitarian Universalist Church, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Geneva. Each choir will perform 3 songs. The concert will end. with a 75 voice mass choir performing several classic choral works.

After the 90 minutes program there will be a light supper for fellowship and celebration.

The event is open to the public. A free-will offering will be collected.
