The McHenry County Conservation District will be hosting two upcoming outdoor yoga classes.

Registration is accepted online, by phone (free programs only) at (815) 479-5779, by mail-in and drop-off at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road in Crystal Lake, or drop-off only at Lost Valley Visitor Center, Route 31 and Harts Rd. in Ringwood.

Yoga on the Trail
Wednesday, September 23 from 6–7:15 p.m. at Hickory Grove – Highlands, 500 Hickory Nut Grove Lane, Cary. Yoga is about balance, and on the Autumnal Equinox the days and nights are balanced into equal amounts of day and night. Why just hike the trail when you can do yoga, too? Combine your studio time with your love of nature. Enhance your trail experience while practicing yoga and learning about the natural world that surrounds us. Our hike will cover about one mile through the oak savanna ecosystem. Take the time to unwind, breathe, and enjoy your time in nature. Our instructor, Marylou P. Nunamaker, a CYT500, owner of Karma Yoga + Salon will lead us in our appreciation and awareness practice. Bring your yoga mat or blanket and water to drink. No previous yoga experience required. Beginners welcome. Fee: $0 County resident/ $6 Non-resident. Adults 14 years and older. Registration deadline:September 19.
Go with the Flow Yoga
Wednesday, October 7 from 10–11:15 a.m. at Hickory Grove – Riverfront, 500 Hickory Nut Grove Lane, Cary. Join us to celebrate the flow of rivers, streams and waters of McHenry County. Come practice yoga by the Fox River. Bringing yoga out to the natural world invites us to focus our awareness. Our instructor, Marylou P. Nunamaker, a CYT500, owner of Karma Yoga + Salon will lead us in our appreciation and awareness practice. Bring your yoga mat or blanket and water to drink. No previous yoga experience required. Beginners welcome. A short presentation on the Fox River in McHenry County will precede our practice.
