CARY PARK DISTRICT'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION - CANCELED
The Cary Park District had planned a 50th Anniversary celebration this evening at Lions Park with food, music, activities, and fireworks to commemorate this milestone. Since Monday, staff has been monitoring the weather and the extended forecast beginning this afternoon and continuing into tomorrow is not favorable. Due to the amount of rain, low temperatures, and the raw conditions expected, the District has made the decision to cancel the 50th Anniversary celebration, including the fireworks display, for this evening.

The safety of park visitors, vendors, fireworks technicians, staff, and other agencies assisting with the event is of upmost importance. In addition, the weather combined with the event usage will adversely impact the park site long term.
The Park District would like to thank the following organizations and businesses for their support: Village of Cary, Cary Police Department, Cary Fire Protection District, Mad Bomber Fireworks Productions, Glow Zone, Record-A-Hit, Dairy Queen, Brothers BBQ, Taco Chicas, Your Sister’s Tomato, and Esposito Enterprises Mobile DJ.
There is no rain date for this event, however we look forward to resuming Summer Celebration with a fireworks display in July 2022.
