Woman Clinging To Tree Rescued From Fox River

The woman was found in the Fox River just south of the McHenry Dam Saturday night.

MCHENRY, IL — A woman was rescued from the Fox River on Saturday night after he boat flipped over and she was forced to cling onto a downed tree to stay above water, according to a news release from the McHenry Township Fire Protection District. Rescue personnel were called to the McHenry Dam in unincorporated McHenry at 8:36 p.m. and found the woman just south of the dam.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office marine unit also responded with two boats and the female was rescued from the river, according to the news release. She was evaluated and treated and released at the scene.
