Local Drug Dealer Gets Prison Time
The 46-year-old McHenry woman was pulled over after a resident called to report a suspicious incident in the Walgreens parking lot.

MCHENRY, IL -- A 46-year-old woman who was busted with cocaine in her car after a caller let police know of a suspicious person in a Walgreens parking lot has been sentenced to five years in prison, prosecutors said. Magnolia Vasquez-Morales, of the 3200 block of Meadow Lane in McHenry, entered a guilty plea to possession of cocaine with intent to deliver (1 to 15 grams), which is a Class 1 felony. Police responded to the Walgreens parking lot at 3295 W. Elm Street in McHenry on Sept. 10 for a report of a drug deal, prosecutors said.
When authorities responded to the area and pulled Vasquez-Morales over, according to the Northwest Herald. She had a child in her car with her and police also turned up less than a gram of cocaine in the vehicle.
While investigating the case, authorities turned up about 10.1 grams of cocaine on Vasquez-Morales and a large amount of cash, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.

Vasquez-Morales was originally charged with child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance but those charges were dismissed as part of a negotiated plea deal, according to online court records. In addition to the five-year prison sentence, Vasquez-Morales has also been ordered to pay over $2,700 in fines.
