Worker Accused Of Creating Fake Employee, Paying Herself $10K: Police
Kristen J. Delboccio is accused of defrauding Cary-based Appliance Marshall.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A Wauconda woman faces felony computer fraud charges for accusations she made up an employee for a Cary business and then issued the fake worker checks, which were routed to her bank account.
Kristen J. Delboccio, of the 26000 block of North Anderson Road, was working for Appliance Marshall when she used the business's payroll software program to create a false employee named "Del, K."
The fake employee had the same direct deposit bank account information as Delboccio, and on Dec. 10, received a payment of $10,678 from the fraudulent payroll checks, according to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County.

The company's office manager, Annie Zielinski, told Shaw Media the company uncovered the thefts by accident after concerns were raised over Delboccio's attendance. She'd been working for the company about a month when they learned of the discrepancies.
A warrant was issued for Delboccio's arrest last week in McHenry County Circuit Court, and Delboccio faces charges of computer fraud and theft, according to online court records. As of Wednesday, she was not listed in custody at the McHenry County Jail.
