• Country Club Fight Draws Darien Police; Several People Involved (patch.com) — Darien police recently responded to a fight at Carriage Greens Country Club that led to a disorderly conduct citation for a Hoffman Estates man. Officers also handled a trespassing case at the Cass Avenue Starbucks, a burglary with damage on Lemont Road, and a retail theft arrest at the 75th Street Walmart, with all suspects given court dates.
   

• Darien Administrator Actually Contractor, Retired In 2018 (patch.com) — Darien residents may want to know their longtime city administrator, Bryon Vana, is technically a contractor through staffing firm MGT while also drawing a public pension after retiring in 2018. City records say this arrangement, in place since 2002 and renewed in 2023, saves Darien money by cutting benefits and lowering salary compared with a traditional full-time administrator.
