Burglary, Theft, Damage: Darien Cops

Someone shattered the windows of a car in a Darien neighborhood, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Theft

  • A catalytic converter was stolen between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 and 10 a.m. Oct. 14 at WoodSpring Suites, 951 N. Frontage Road. The loss was estimated at $500.

Damage

  • Suspects shattered both side windows of a car between 4 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Saturday in a driveway in the 7900 block of Knottingham Circle.

Burglary

  • A number of items were stolen from a storage unit between Aug. 13 and Oct. 15 from a unit at Public Storage, 1001 N. Frontage Road. The loss was estimated at $800.

Retail theft

  • George Adibu, 47, of Woodridge, was cited about 7 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St. An employee told police that Adibu under-scanned items in the self-checkout aisle. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
