Calling All Community Preschoolers to Embark on One-Week Adventures

Whatever your preschooler's interest, St. John Lutheran Early Learning Center in Darien has a Summer Day Camp to peak their curiosity.

The St. John Lutheran Early Learning Center (ELC) located at 7214 South Cass Avenue in Darien will offer six one-week Summer Day Camp sessions which will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. They are open to all community children aged 3 to 6.

A thematic curriculum with many fun-filled learning experiences to encourage exploration of the world around us will be employed. Each camp will have its own adventure which will continue throughout the week. For example, during the Ocean Voyage Camp, students will travel across the ocean, meet sea creatures, and get to the island with the treasure on the last day. The Indian Prairie Library will be partnering with us. The children will each get a CD of the week's activities.

The camps will cover a wide range of topics matched to young children’s interests and curiosity: Let’s Go Camping, June 20-24; Mad Science, June 27-July 1; Ocean Voyage, July 11-15; Space Exploration, August 1-5; Insect World, August 8-12; and Outdoor Art & Music, August 15-19.
