Darien Burglars Unplugged Security Cameras: Cops
The homeowner had seen a woman sitting in a car for hours earlier in the week, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Three masked intruders last month unplugged security cameras in a Darien house and stole jewelry, police said.
The March 21 burglary drew a big police response, which Patch reported on. On Wednesday, Patch obtained the full police report through a public records request.
The break-in was reported about 9 a.m. in the 2700 block of Woodmere Drive. It is in a neighborhood that is along Lemont Road, north of Plainfield Road.

According to the report, the homeowner got an alert that three masked men entered her house through a sliding door above the garage. She called 911.
Darien police saw the broken sliding door and figured the suspects may still be inside. So they called a multi-agency SWAT team, which found no one.

The men were determined to have left through the garage.
The homeowner told police that jewelry from the top dresser drawer in the master bedroom was missing. That included an old wedding ring and some jewelry from her quinceanera, or 15th birthday, police said.
She and her husband told police they had issues with no one and had no idea who had broken in.
The husband remembered seeing a woman whom he had never seen before sitting in a car just two days earlier near the house. She was there when he returned in the evening, about six hours later, police said.
