Does Darien Cite Speeders Going A Bit Over Limit?
Patch gets the answer from the police through a public records request.
DARIEN, IL – You may want to think again if you believe Darien police are commonly stopping drivers for going a couple of miles over the speed limit.
Speeding became an online discussion after Patch posted a story last week about the issue on 67th Street.
One reader, who expressed support for the police, wrote, "Anyone going 1 mile over the 25 mph speed limit on 67th street is just begging to get a ticket at this point."

On July 1, a driver was given a warning for speeding 30 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 2500 block of Oldfield Road.
The person was also issued a ticket because the truck was overweight for the registration limit, according to the city.
