South Speech Team Gets Another First Place

DARIEN, IL — The speech team from Hinsdale South High School continued its "incredible" start to its season with a first-place finish at the Willowbrook Winter Tournament, according to a school news release. It was the team's third first-place finish of the year.

In addition defeating 13 other teams for the top spot, South took individual championships in eight of the events, consisting of Isabel Villagomez (dramatic interpretation), Cate Cianci and Darrell Mondaine (humorous duet acting), Cate Cianci (humorous interpretation), Emily Miller (informative speaking), Darrell Mondaine (original comedy), Judi Nwonye (poetry reading), Johann Tabbilos (radio speaking) and Spencer Staak (special occasion speaking).
