Decatur Moves transports over 170,000 passengers in first year (wandtv.com) — Decatur's on-demand transit service, Decatur Moves, has given more than 170,000 rides in its first year, connecting residents to jobs, schools, and medical appointments across the city and Macon County. City officials are now seeking federal and state funding to expand service and add vehicles, with rides available seven days a week through the app, website, or phone.

New details revealed in Decatur home invasion; suspect denied pretrial release (wcia.com) — A Decatur man is being held without pretrial release after police said he forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's home while armed and fought with her current boyfriend. Video recorded by the girlfriend, a stolen handgun, and Young's prior firearm convictions were key factors as a judge ruled he poses an ongoing threat to the community.

New Signs Celebrating Decatur Industry (decaturtribune.com) — New signs celebrating Decatur's industrial heritage have been installed on the Staley Viaduct, with solar lighting coming soon to brighten the busy corridor. The volunteer-led Beautify Decatur Coalition highlights this project alongside tree plantings, sculptures, litter cleanups, and school outreach, all aimed at keeping Decatur's streets, gateways, and medians cleaner and more welcoming.
   

5. Stephen Decatur alumni react to pillars from the school unveiled in at the City Center (wcia.com) — In downtown Decatur, six original pillars from the former Stephen Decatur High School are now displayed outside the civic center, honoring the school's legacy for alumni and residents. City partners plan a second phase with a commemorative plaque by year's end, preserving memories of beloved teachers, students, and community history.
