Deerfield Park District Theater Auditions, Performances and Workshops

Calling All Talented People – Why not audition for Deerfield Family Theater’s production of HONK!?  Auditions take place August 24^th, 25^th, 27^th and 28^th.  August 24 & 25: Adults and High School Students (open to everyone; beginning at 6:30 pm.)  August 27: Grades 4-5 at 9:30 a.m.; Grades 6-8 at 1:00 p.m. (These auditions are open only to those who reside within Deerfield Park District boundaries or attend school in Deerfield)

August 28: Callbacks. All auditions are at Jewett Park Community Center, 836 Jewett Park Drive, Deerfield. Provide sheet music and come prepared to sing 16 bars of your favorite song and bring appropriate footwear for dance audition. Performances are at Caruso Middle School, 1801 Montgomery Drive, Deerfield, on November 11, 18: 7:30 pm; Nov. 12, 19: 1:00 & 7:30 pm.; and November 13, 20: 2:00 pm. HONK! is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). New Audition Workshop class:  Deerfield Park District offers new Audition Workshops this summer for those in Grade 4 through adult. Whether you’re an experienced performer looking to polish up your favorite song or a first timer looking for ideas for an up-coming audition, you can leave this two-hour, one day workshop knowing  the secrets of success. Local Artist/Director/Producer Adam Busch provides all participants an opportunity to learn and actively work on techniques to improve their audition experiences. Come with a prepared/memorized song and sheet music (in the right key) and bring paper and pencil. Wear comfortable and audition-appropriate clothes. Be prepared to sing, act and move.

Workshops are at Jewett Park Community Center, 836 Jewett Park Drive, in Deerfield on Sunday, July 17 (Section #3) or on Saturday August 13 (Section 4) Workshops run from 10 am. – 12 pm. and are $75* per person.
